1st Prize: $1500 * - $50 gift certificate from Strings by Mail - Jesus Serrano will return at the 2018 festival to perform his winning concert.
2nd Prize: $800 - $50 gift certificate from Strings by Mail - Matthew Gillen
3rd Prize: $500 - $25 gift certificate from Strings by Mail - Anthony Mariano
4th Prize: free tuition to the 2018 CM festival & competition, $25 gift certificate from Strings by Mail -  Alvaro Miranda

2018 Rules: Music performed must be published and performed by memory. When you turn in your programme on the competition form, this programme is good for ALL rounds.

Round 1: Competitors must play two selections of contrasting styles totalling no more than 10 minutes time. Judges hold the right to cut off competitors during performance if they go over time.  Should this occur, it would in no way be detrimental to the scoring. Timing starts after the competitor is finished tuning. However, the timer will not be stopped for competitors tuning between pieces.


Semi-finals: 10 competitors will be chosen to participate in the semi-final round. Judges will choose one piece off of the proposed programme. The second piece (and if time permits, a 3rd work) will be chosen by the competitor from their submitted programme. Total time for each competitor is no more than 14 minutes. Judges hold the right to cut off competitors during performance if they go over time. Should this occur, it would in no way be detrimental to the scoring. Timing starts after the competitor is finished tuning. The timer will not be stopped for competitors tuning between pieces.


Final Round: Four performers will be chosen to perform at the Finals Recital on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Each performer will perform a total of 25 minutes.  Judges hold the right to cut off competitors during performance if they go over time.  This would in no way be detrimental to the scoring. Timing starts after the competitor is finished tuning. The timer will not be stopped for competitors tuning between pieces.
Semi Finals and Finals are open to the public.
